USB Shutter makes it incredibly simple to disable your computer’s USB drives. After you get the application and run it, you need only click on the red Disable button. That’s it! When you want to enable your USB drives, hit the green Enable button. Again, that’s it!

USB Shutter does not have to be installed. To get started with the application, you must download a RAR archive, extract the executable inside, and then run that executable. Of course, the fact that USB Shutter does not have to be installed makes it a portable application. Feel free to take it anywhere you need to go.

The best word to describe the interface is “minimalist”. At the top, the application displays the current USB status. Underneath you will see the Disable/Enable, Protect Only, and Exit buttons. Even the greenest of novices will have no problems with this very simple interface.

Clicking the correct button is all you have to do to in order to access the functionality USB Shutter has to offer. If your USB drives are enabled and you want to disable them, click on the Disable button. To enable them again, hit the Enable button. And if you want to activate the Protect Only mode, you need only hit the Protect Only button. It’s all a very straightforward matter that won’t pose a problem to anyone.

As mentioned above, USB Shutter is a free application.

Click a button and the free, portable application USB Shutter will disable your USB drives.

Pros

USB Shutter does not have to be installed; it is portable. The application features a minimalist interface. Accessing USB Shutter’s functionality is a very straightforward matter. USB Shutter is free.

Cons

None that I could think of.
